An excellent product
HEM-780 blood pressure monitor is far easier to use than others I have tried. The pre-formed cuff is simply to apply with no pinching of the skin and no fumbling to position it properly. A comparison with the doctor's office showed very accurate readings. The memory feature makes it so simple to keep track of readings. I (and my doctor) recommend this affordable monitor to anyone who needs to watch their blood pressure

Accurate and simple to use
HEM-780 by far the easiest BP tool I've ever used for an individual. The cuff fits my arm (large cuff) and my wife's (small cuff) with one easy to use cuff. Just press the button and presto, you have an accurate reading of BP and Pulse. It is facinating to see how one's BP fluctuates during the day, based on what you are doing and what stress you are under. It also has a memory device , which i have not used yet. I highly recommend this machine.

Good BP Monitor
I am quite pleased with HEM-780 device. I really expected it to be kinda flimsy, but it actually seems quite well made. The spring-loaded cuff is easy to put on and use without help, and comfortable enough. The display is large and clear, and up to 90 readings are stored in memory. It also gives you an average of your last three readings. Power comes from 4 AA batteries (included) or an AC adapter (also included)
I've taken several readings to check its consistency. Readings taken under similar circumstances, close together, appeared to be steady.
My only complaint is the hose could be slightly longer. Overall, I think this is a good tool to have for blood pressure monitoring on a regular basis, which is probably something we all should be doing.

Great Monitor for self study of blood pressures
The HEM-780 BP Monitor is great for home study. I am able to establish relationships of blood pressure to various time periods of the day. Also it can show the various effects created by different beverages such as coffee, soda, etc...
However it's another story when you try and tell a doctor or nurse your average blood pressure by showing them the results. The physicians tend to rely on one test by a nurse or themselves at the time they give the test. This is to bad, it allows for misdianosis and over perscribing of medications. I have had these conflicts with more than one doctor and many nurses.
I believe this Omron Blood Pressure monitor is excellent for averaging results and the medical community needs to accept averaging over a single test.
I have been an EMT for 6 years and have done thousands of blood pressure readings. A single test on any meter or monitor is far from acturate for blood pressure evaluation.
I can tell you this! If a doctor or nurse informs you that your blood pressure in high and wants to put you on blood pressure meds or restrictions, buy a very good monitor such as the Omron Blood Pressure and log the results for yourself. It's up to you to protect your body system for yourself from over medication which in some cases can be very dangerous. Get as many opinions as possible. Good luck!
